Path of service

1. After September 11, 2001

   Enlisted in the U.S. Navy

   Answered the call after the attacks and set his sights on Naval Special Warfare.

2. BUD/S

   Became a Navy SEAL

   Completed Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training and joined the SEAL teams.

3. About a decade

   Served in the U.S. Navy

   Including about six years with the SEAL Teams. He served with SEAL Team 4, including two combat deployments to Iraq. His awards include two Combat Action Ribbons, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal and five Navy Achievement Medals.

4. After the Navy

   Maritime security and counter-piracy

   Directed more than 60 vessel protection operations, none with a security incident.

5. Today

   Founder and president of VETTED

   Leads a service-disabled veteran-owned small business in Troy, Michigan, with co-owner Chris Warburton.

Evan is the founder of The Veteran Muster: All Present and Accounted For, a Veteran-only gathering for camaraderie, remembrance, storytelling and Buddy Checks. VETTED Veteran Care organizes and facilitates the Musters in senior living communities throughout Southeast Michigan. Every Veteran is welcome, and there is no charge to host or attend.
